Copyright followup: Stanford and Berkeley

Here’s an article in the San Francisco Chronicle about how Stanford and UC Berkeley are penalizing students who share copywritten content without permission (Stanford will disconnect your internet connection and fine you up to $1000). One of the reasons for the program is that they want something that will be noticed by students who don’t realize how serious the risk of being sued by the RIAA or MPAA is.
